Let it come up

Here is what nobody tells you about cleansing.

It gets personal.

The spirit part is beautiful. The energy part is powerful. And then it reaches your mind and your emotions and suddenly it is a Wednesday afternoon and I am sitting in my car with the engine off, crying about something that happened years ago. Something I was sure sure I had already put down.

This is the cleansing reaching the deep shelves.

Mind holds things in patterns. The same loop. The same conversation replaying. The same scene lit up like a room you keep walking into.

Emotions hold the charge underneath.

And when this month's cleansing reaches these shelves, what comes up arrives whole. Vivid. Present tense. As real as the steering wheel under your hands.

Let it come up.

Sit in the car. Let the tears come. Stand under hot water and let the old words run one last time. Feel the full weight of it in your chest, in your belly, in whatever part of your body holds it.

All the way through.

Because this time it is moving. This time, the current behind it is strong enough to carry it all the way out.

You can feel the difference. Now there is a direction. They rise, and they go. Like smoke off a fire. Like a breath you have been holding for years, finally leaving your lungs.

And every time something goes, stand still for a moment.

Feel what is left.

Steady ground under your feet. Clean air in your chest. A clearing in you that gets wider and quieter with every release.

You have been building this ground all month. Week by week. Wave by wave. Everything that passed through left more of it behind. And something is taking shape in that cleared space. Something solid. Something warm. Something that has been growing toward you as fast as you have been growing toward it.

You know what it is. You can feel it the way you feel someone standing in a doorway before you turn around.

One more week.

Stay with it.
