Hi Reader
Happy Friday, and welcome to the turn.
We began this month with our sleeves rolled up. We brought our will to congested thoughts, to the energy of our food, to the rooms we live in. We scrubbed, and the scrubbing was real, and it mattered. I wouldn't take a word of it back.
But there is a purification that the will cannot perform, only permit. And it is, in the end, the one the word *Divine* was pointing at all along.
Consider how a child cleans and how an elder cleans. The child scrubs earnestly, a little frantically, certain that effort is everything, and usually leaving streaks. The elder has learned something the child has not: that much of what we call cleansing is simply getting out of the way of what was already trying to happen. Water wants to run clear. Light wants to arrive. The Divine, by whatever name you hold it, is already and endlessly purifying. Our great labor, in the end, is to stop obstructing it.
This is the maturation. We begin by doing. We end by allowing. Not because the doing was wrong, it was the necessary apprenticeship, but because there is a deeper clean available to the one who finally sets down the brush.
So this week, a different invitation. No technique. You cannot, after all, be handed a method for surrender. The method would only become one more thing to grip. Instead: awaken the message, and then ask nothing. Direct nothing. Simply let it move through you as it will. Let Divine Purification do to you what you have spent the month doing to your thoughts and your meals and your rooms. Become, for a few breaths, the space rather than the one clearing it.
You may find this harder than all the scrubbing combined. The will does not enjoy being asked to rest. Let it be hard. Let it be a few breaths of being washed rather than washing.
The glass we noticed at the start of the month, the one we didn't know had clouded, was never entirely ours to clean alone. In the end we only had to stop holding it so tightly in front of the light, and let the light do what light does.
This is the heart of the message, and it doesn't end when June does. Purification is not a month. It is a way of keeping company with what is already trying to make us clear.
If this journey has stirred something in you, if you find yourself wanting to go deeper into this work, these messages, this way of moving through the world, that is exactly what ESS exists for. We don't pursue people. We simply leave the door open and let those who feel the pull walk through. You'll know if you're one of them.
Until next Friday:
Be well, and be washed.
